National Guard Partners With Conservationists Warren Grove Initiative To Mitigate Fire Damage
WHO/WHAT: Maj. Gen. Glenn K. Rieth, the Adjutant General, and Michele S. Byers, executive director of New Jersey Conservation Foundation, as well as officials from the Pinelands Commission and state Green Acres Fund announce the preservation of 107-acres adjacent to the Warren Grove Gunnery Range. It will be the first time a New Jersey nonprofit has been able to purchase property with financial assistance from a U.S. Department of Defense fund that preserves land surrounding military installations. The new arrangement will ensure The New Jersey Air National Guard is better able to mitigate potential fire damage in areas near the training area. The Warren Grove Gunnery Range is used for aerial combat training by all components of the U.S. military and its East Coast location makes it an invaluable national defense resource.
WHEN: Tuesday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
WHERE: Warren Grove Range, Route 539, Warren Grove
Media wishing to attend should call Maj. Yvonne Mays by 12 noon, March 23 by calling 609-847-6093. |
