Comments: I really enjoyed my visit to the Militia Museum last week and am so pleased with what I learned and discovered about our NJ militia. It was really nice to be able to leisurely wander through and examine the displays (with my own specific goals as a writer) and then ask questions about specific things.

Mr. Bilby - with his vast military history background explained about the piece of flint held in place in a flintlock musket. I am going to be able to use this bit of info to "enrich" some writing about one of my novel's characters - in addition to other discoveries I made that day.

Mr. Bilby - again because of his deep interest in and rich experience with military history - was able to help me "find" a N.J. cavalry unit for one of my novel's characters whose personal background falls in this period of time.

I had been hoping to find some really good printed materials to augment my historical reading, and the "New Jersey Goes to War" book was exactly what I needed.

My time at the Museum was well spent - and I hope to visit again.
