ALBERT J. BUCCHI

ALBERT J. BUCCHIAlbert J. Bucchi, Director of Veteran Services for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, oversees the operation of Brigadier General William Doyle Cemetery at Arneytown.  He also has the responsibility for the operation of Veterans Haven, a transitional housing unit for homeless Veterans.  He supervises the State Approving Agency, which certifies all educational and training programs for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  He is responsible for the operation and maintenance of New Jersey’s Veteran Monuments and Memorials, which includes the New Jersey Vietnam Memorial and Educational Center in Homdel, the New Jersey Korean Memorial in Atlantic City and the World War II Memorial  in Trenton.  He also has the responsibility for outreach and oversees State Veterans Service Officers throughout the State.

Albert Bucchi was born in Riverside, New Jersey on February 4, 1947.  He served in the U.S. Army from June 1966 to June 1969 with Vietnam service from April 1967 to April 1968.  After his separation from the Army he graduated from Mercer County Community College in 1972 with an Associates Degree in Business Administration and then attended and graduated from Rider College in Lawrenceville with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing in 1974 using the GI Bill.  Previous to becoming Director he worked for Pennoni Associates an engineering firm with corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.

From June 2005 till June 2010 Albert Bucchi served as Legislative Director for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of New Jersey and served on the National Legislative Committee in Washington, DC.  He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, AMVETS and the Disabled American Veterans.  He is married to Christine and has four sons and five grandchildren.
